In first quarter of 2010, PowerQ performed a study to upgrade power system for Dicoverer drillship ungergoing massive upgrade of electrical power system at vessel docked at Subic bay, Philippines. PowerQ enginners embarked on data collection of site and future power neeeds of the operation.
Based input parameters validated by drilling and operation crew a model was simulated the electrical generation and power system and estimate power requiremnt for drilling operation. The Protection setting for new geerator circuit braeakers and various loads including mudpumps, topdrive and ship services transfomer were recalculated and relay set by Frontier Drilling team.
