Vopak Terminal Expansion included a new 22,000Cubic meter third Party Chemical Tanks in Singapore.
Vopak is the world wide provider of conditioned storage facilities for bulk liquids such as liquid or gaseous chemicals, oil products, petrochemicals, biofuels or vegetable. Vopak offers more storage capacity than any other independent tank terminal operator in the world.
Vopak Penjaru terminal expansion project included additional 18 tanks and associated processes and utility systems. The raw material is generally offloaded from ships and transferred to storage tanks and is finally transferred to truck through pumping systems monitored and controlled by a custody metering and system.
The EPC contractor engaged PowerQ to provide engineering services for electrical and instrumentation system.
PowerQ reviewed the other terminals of Vopak and studied the existing facilities, PowerQ designed the electrical and instrument system for storage of mulit-specialty chemicals for the Vopak terminal. PowerQ developed for design document:
- Electrical specifications for switchgears, MCC, VSD cables, grounding to meet Eex class requirements
- Electrical load flow, short circuit and motor starting study using SKM power Tool s software
- Schematic and layout drawings for supply to pumps, and offloading systems
- Tank Area and street lighting
- Instrument l specifications for flow metering, radar tank gauging system and truck offloading system
- Schematic and layout drawing, control and wiring diagram for instrument and control system
PowerQ reviewed the existing system and liaised with vendors and term maintenance contractor to produce improved design documents to integrate with the existing system.
